Born: 10/31/74 Syracuse, NY
Tim began his brewing career in 1997 when his beloved wife, Lisa, told him he needed a hobby and bought him a homebrew kit for Christmas. After quickly becoming obsessed with beer and brewing, he forced his way into the budding craft beer scene in Syracuse by getting a job on the bottling line at The Towpath Brewing Co. Moving up to assistant brewer, he learned the basics of commercial brewing. Sadly, Towpath closed shortly after, and Tim moved over to the other local brewery, Middle Ages Brewing Co. After two years of being the assistant brewer at Middle Ages, he was promoted to head brewer. In that position he learned about recipe formulation and how to run and operate a full scale commercial brew house. Upon learning that the Empire Brewing Co. was about to reopen, he pursued a job with Empire, wanting to learn more about the industry, and what is was like to run and operate a brewpub. Empire hired him into the position of Director of Brewing Operations. He would like to thank everyone at Empire for allowing him to further his brewing career with such a great and established company. Now that brewing has become a career his hobby in his free time is playing the bagpipes. So far his greatest accomplishment in bagpiping has been opening for Bob Weir and Ratdog at the Landmark Theatre. |
